Rocket up the mighty Stikine River — one of North America's last undammed wild rivers — deep into the Tongass rainforest to a remote glacier-fed lake ringed by ice and peaks. An adrenaline-laced journey through scenery that very few travellers ever witness.
What to expect
Your jet boat surges across the Stikine flats and upriver past towering canyon walls, bald eagle nests, and glimpses of moose on the banks. You'll pause at Chief Shakes Hot Springs, a steaming geothermal pool in the wilderness, before continuing to the ice-blue glacier lake where you can walk the shore among calved bergs. The return skims downriver with the current, framing a final panorama of the Coast Mountains.
Good to know
Tours run approximately 5–6 hours; confirm departure time against your ship's all-aboard. Dress in warm, waterproof layers — the river generates its own chill. Closed-toe shoes are required. Book directly with Breakaway Adventures well in advance; small-group capacity fills quickly on cruise-port days.
