Glide solo across one of the most photogenic lagoons in all of French Polynesia as the sky turns amber and rose. Anaa's inner lagoon is shallow, wind-sheltered, and impossibly turquoise — a sunset SUP here is an image that never leaves you.
What to expect
Boards and paddles are fitted to your height at the village quay. Your guide leads you on a clockwise arc around the inner lagoon, pausing at a sandbar barely inches above the waterline where the reflection doubles every colour in the sky. The guide points out bioluminescent plankton beginning to glow in your wake as dusk deepens. You glide back to the quay under the first stars of evening.
Good to know
Best aligned with ships that have a 19:00 or later all-aboard. Confirm sunset time with your guide (varies seasonally). No prior SUP experience needed — the lagoon is flat calm. Waterproof phone case essential; cameras welcome.
