Enter through the dramatic ocean-blue entrance hall and descend into a world of 68 tanks showcasing sharks, rays, sea turtles, and the centrepiece whale shark gliding in a colossal 1,500-tonne main tank. The otter and dolphin shows are polished and genuinely joyful, while the jellyfish gallery offers an almost meditative beauty. Aqua World Oarai is approximately 20 minutes from Hitachinaka Port by taxi or private car. Open daily 10:00 am–6:00 pm (last entry 5:00 pm).
