Aqua World Oarai Aquarium: Japan's Shark Sanctuary VIP Visit

Explore Japan's largest shark aquarium, home to over 580 species of sea life including the awe-inspiring whale shark tank. Aqua World Oarai is a world-class facility — dramatic, educational, and utterly mesmerising for discerning travellers of any age.

What to expect

Enter through the dramatic ocean-blue entrance hall and descend into a world of 68 tanks showcasing sharks, rays, sea turtles, and the centrepiece whale shark gliding in a colossal 1,500-tonne main tank. The otter and dolphin shows are polished and genuinely joyful, while the jellyfish gallery offers an almost meditative beauty. The facility's bilingual English signage and excellent café make for a seamless, unhurried visit. Arrive at opening (10:00 am) for the quietest, most luxurious experience.
