What to expect
Your host guides you through the colour and clamour of Dong Ba Market, selecting lemongrass, shrimp paste, banana flowers, and morning-fresh herbs. Back at a traditional Hue home kitchen, you learn to prepare three to four iconic dishes — perhaps bánh khoái (sizzling Hue crepes), bún bò Huế (spiced beef noodle soup), and nem lụi (lemongrass pork skewers) — with hands-on instruction and plenty of tasting along the way. The class concludes with a full sit-down meal of everything you've cooked, served with Vietnamese rice wine.
