Stand before Ireland's greatest treasure — the illuminated Book of Kells — inside the magnificent Long Room of Trinity College Dublin, home to 200,000 ancient texts. With a private guide, the experience transcends a standard visit.
What to expect
The DART train from Dún Laoghaire to Pearse Station takes just 18 minutes — one of Ireland's great city approaches. Your guide meets you at the college gates and leads you through the cobbled Front Square before entering the Old Library. The Long Room's towering oak galleries and 2,000-year-old marble busts are genuinely breathtaking. Allow time afterward for a coffee in the Fellow's Square or a stroll through Merrion Square.
Good to know
Book timed-entry tickets directly on the Trinity website well in advance — they sell out weeks ahead in summer. The DART from Dún Laoghaire pier takes 18 min (EUR 3.75 each way). Allow 3–4 hrs total. The exhibition is indoors and weather-proof.
