Sail deep into Kenai Fjords National Park past calving tidewater glaciers, humpback whales, orcas, and puffin colonies — then feast on a salmon & steak BBQ on a remote island. This is Alaska at its most primal and spectacular.
What to expect
Depart Seward's small-boat harbor and cruise past the granite walls of Resurrection Bay before entering the national park proper. A Park Service ranger provides expert narration as you drift alongside Holgate or Northwestern Glacier, watching house-sized ice calve into the sea. Wildlife sightings — orca pods, Steller sea lions, horned puffins, mountain goats — are virtually guaranteed. The day ends with a hot salmon and steak barbecue served on a wild Alaskan island.
Good to know
Full-day tours run approximately 8–9 hours; confirm all-aboard time before booking. Pre-book well in advance — summer dates sell out weeks ahead. Dress in waterproof layers regardless of forecast; the fjords create their own weather.
