Glide by wooden punt through a labyrinth of illuminated stalactite caverns flooded by a prehistoric river — one of Europe's most dramatic underground spectacles. A true bucket-list wonder of the Southern Peloponnese.
What to expect
A private vehicle collects you from the port and winds through the wild Mani landscape to Vlychada. You board a flat-bottomed punt and are poled through corridors of rose-pink and ivory stalactites reflected in perfectly still water — 40 minutes of pure awe. A 10-minute walk brings you back to daylight through a separate gallery. En route, your guide narrates the deep Mani history of blood feuds, tower villages, and Byzantine survival.
Good to know
Pre-book as cave entry tickets are strictly capacity-controlled — walk-ins are routinely turned away in season. Allow 3.5–4 hours total from port. All-aboard is typically early evening; a morning departure is strongly advised.
