Journey into the Nemea valley — Greece's most celebrated red-wine appellation — for an intimate tasting of the noble Agiorgitiko grape guided by a local oenologist, paired with regional mezedes at an estate winery. Ancient ruins and world-class wine in a single, sun-soaked morning.
What to expect
A 40-minute drive through olive groves and orange orchards brings you to the rolling vineyards of Nemea, framed by Mount Kyllini. Your oenologist traces the Agiorgitiko grape from vine to glass, then leads a structured tasting of four to five estate wines, from young rosé to aged single-vineyard reds. Each wine is matched with local charcuterie, olives, and cheese — a true Peloponnesian table. A brief detour to the Temple of Nemean Zeus adds a glorious ancient counterpoint before the drive back to port.
Good to know
Nemea is approximately 40–50 min from Nafplio port. Book early: small-group oenologist tours sell out in peak season (May–Oct). Confirm the tour returns with at least 1 hour before all-aboard. A light jacket is wise for cellar visits even in summer.
