Charter a private traditional caïque for a full loop of Symi's dramatic coastline, dropping anchor at secret sea caves, turquoise bays, and the legendary Blue Lagoon beaches inaccessible by land. Utterly bucket-list.
What to expect
Your own traditional wooden caïque departs Gialos harbour at your chosen time, rounding the rugged northern cape to reach St. Emilianos Church and the wild, uninhabited beaches of the island's leeward side. The crew drops anchor wherever you wish — swim, snorkel, or simply float in waters so clear you can see the seabed ten metres below. A cooler of local wine, fresh fruit, and Greek mezedes is standard on private charters, turning the journey into a floating feast.
Good to know
Book well in advance — private charters sell out fast in peak season. Confirm the all-aboard time with your ship and ask the operator for a guaranteed return window; Gialos harbour is a short walk to the tender/dock. Bring reef-safe sunscreen, a hat, and a dry bag for valuables.
