What to expect
The trail begins at the national park car park and winds through mahogany, white cedar, and century plant, the canopy alive with bananaquits and Caribbean doves. Your guide narrates the island's geology and ecology as you ascend to the two observation towers, where the full sweep of the BVI archipelago unfolds — Drake's Passage, Necker Island, and the outer cays shimmering in the trade-wind light. The descent loops back through a different section of forest, and the whole excursion takes a comfortable two to three hours. Pair it with a stop at The Baths for a perfect full-day itinerary.
Good to know
Wear light hiking shoes and bring water; the trail is well-marked but can be slippery after rain. Best combined with a morning visit to The Baths. Allow 4–5 hours total ashore. Stoutt's can arrange round-island transfers.
