Board a classic sailing vessel for a leisurely coastal cruise along Crete's north coast, anchoring for swimming in clear Aegean water before sitting down to a freshly prepared Cretan mezze with local wine — effortlessly elegant and unhurried.
What to expect
You'll join a small group aboard a well-appointed traditional sailing vessel departing from the Rethymno or Chania coast. The skipper navigates along dramatic sea-cliff scenery before dropping anchor in a sheltered cove for swimming and snorkelling. A Cretan-inspired mezze lunch — dakos, fresh fish, local cheeses, olives, wine and soft drinks — is served on deck as you drift in the afternoon sun. The return sail offers golden-hour views of the White Mountains above Crete's coastline.
Good to know
Pre-book online well in advance — small-group departures fill quickly in season. Confirm the departure marina is reachable from Souda within your ship's port day (Chania-area departures are easiest). Bring a towel, reef-safe sunscreen and a change of clothes. Check all-aboard times carefully before selecting morning versus afternoon departures.
