Cast lines in crystal Saronic waters aboard a private traditional caïque, snorkel deserted coves, and sit down to a freshly grilled feast of your own catch. The most romantic, off-grid way to experience Hydra's coastline.
What to expect
A weathered wooden caïque departs Hydra harbour just as the morning light turns the water to hammered gold. Your experienced skipper navigates to prime fishing grounds and uninhabited islets where the snorkelling is extraordinary. If the catch is good, lunch is prepared on a clifftop taverna terrace using your own haul — grilled whole with local olive oil, lemon, and sea salt. The return to harbour is leisurely, with a final swim stop in a turquoise bay tucked out of sight of the town.
Good to know
Book well in advance in high season (June–August). Confirm exact departure and return times against your all-aboard. Bring reef-safe sunscreen, a hat, and a light layer for the open water. Optional gourmet lunch can be pre-arranged with the operator.
