The Mogote Peninsula's towering sand dunes tumble straight into the Sea of Cortez, offering adrenaline-fuelled sandboarding as the sky turns amber and rose. It's Baja's most photogenic adventure, and it happens just minutes from port.
What to expect
Hop aboard a 4x4 transfer from La Paz to the Mogote Peninsula, where guides strap you to a sandboard and send you carving down 30-metre dunes into soft landings at the shoreline. As the sun dips toward the Sierra de la Laguna, the contrast of burnt-orange sand against cobalt sea is simply extraordinary. The tour wraps with sundowners on the beach before your return transfer.
Good to know
Evening departure (~3 pm) means you have the morning free to explore La Paz's malecón or town. Duration 3.5 hours; confirm your all-aboard allows for a 6:30–7 pm return. Closed-toe shoes recommended; sunscreen and a light jacket for after sunset essential.
