What to expect
A short transfer from the quay brings you to the camp, dramatically positioned with panoramic views over Hammerfest and the fjord below. Inside the lavvu, a crackling fire warms the space as your Sámi host shares the history, spirituality, and daily life of the indigenous peoples of Finnmark. You are invited to feed and pet the reindeer — gentle, curious animals that have been central to Sámi culture for millennia. The session closes with traditional refreshments and the opportunity to ask your host anything.
Good to know
The camp is approximately 10 minutes from the cruise quay. The 1.5-hour format fits comfortably within a typical Hammerfest port call. Wear insulated footwear; the ground can be snow-covered and uneven.
