Sail to Norman Island — the real-life inspiration for Treasure Island — and snorkel its legendary underwater caves glittering with glass shrimp and lobster. Follow with a rum-soaked lunch at the iconic Pirate's Bight beach bar. History, adventure, and flavor in one unforgettable day.
What to expect
Your private skipper anchors off the rocky headland and you slip into warm, clear water. The three famous caves plunge into darkness, and you kick your fins to find glowing orange cup corals, resident lobster, and clouds of silversides shimmering in the shafts of sunlight. It's otherworldly. Afterwards, you dinghy ashore to Pirate's Bight for conch chowder, fresh catch of the day, and a Pain Killer cocktail — invented right here in the BVI — barefoot on the sand.
Good to know
Norman Island is a 20–30 min boat ride from Peter Island. Arrange transport through a BVI water taxi or the Peter Island Resort dock. Pre-book lunch at Pirate's Bight for peak season. Snorkel gear is essential — bring your own or hire from your charter captain. Mind the all-aboard time; allow 90 mins return travel.
