Paddle a private kayak across the pristine freshwater lagoon of Lake Macurany, just minutes from the pier, surrounded by untouched Amazon rainforest and abundant birdlife — then swim in the warm, crystal-clear waters.
What to expect
A short transfer (approximately 10 minutes) brings you to the shores of Lake Macurany, one of the Amazon's most beautiful freshwater lagoons. You'll be fitted with a kayak and life vest before your naturalist guide leads you on a leisurely paddle through lily-pad-fringed channels alive with herons, kingfishers, and bright-blue morpho butterflies. Midway through, anchor in a sheltered cove for a refreshing swim in warm, clear Amazonian waters — an extraordinarily rare luxury. The return paddle is gentle, with the guide pointing out medicinal plants along the shoreline.
Good to know
Lake Macurany is approximately 3 km from the cruise pier — arrange a local taxi or have the guide include transfer. The experience runs approximately 2.5–3 hours. Water shoes recommended. Available year-round; dry season (June–November) offers the clearest water.
