What to expect
At Jameos del Agua, follow Manrique's hand-crafted pathway down into an illuminated volcanic grotto where a saltwater lagoon harbours the tiny, translucent jameitos crabs found nowhere else on Earth. At nearby Cueva de los Verdes, your guide leads you through 2 km of iridescent lava tunnels formed by a single eruption 3,000 years ago, culminating in a legendary optical illusion that startles even the most seasoned traveller.

Both sites are in the north of the island, approximately 30 minutes from Arrecife port. Book timed tickets in advance at entradaslanzarote.com — they sell out on busy cruise days. A private taxi or hire car is the most time-efficient way to combine both in one morning.
