Trek through Grand Etang's ancient rainforest to seven tiered jungle waterfalls, swimming in each emerald pool as you climb. One of the Caribbean's most exhilarating half-day adventures.
What to expect
The trailhead sits at the crater-lake of Grand Etang (elevation ~530 m), already a spectacle of mist and montane forest. Your certified guide leads you along a well-marked but thrillingly rugged trail — roots, stream crossings, and birdsong — to the first of seven cascading falls. Each pool is cooler and more secluded than the last; the upper falls are reached by climbing the cascade face itself. Mona monkeys often appear on the trail, and your guide will name every tree and flowering plant.
Good to know
Wear sturdy water-friendly shoes (not flip-flops). Bring a dry bag for valuables. The drive from port to Grand Etang is ~30 min; arrange a private taxi/return transfer for approx. USD 40–50 each way. Full circuit is 2.5–3 hours; factor in drive time to ensure you're back well before all-aboard.
