Step inside the original Jameson Distillery in the heart of Smithfield for an immersive, hands-on journey through Irish whiskey craftsmanship. The premium Whiskey Makers' Experience offers small-group, expert-led tastings that go far beyond a standard tour.
What to expect
You enter the restored 1780s distillery, where the copper pot stills gleam under Victorian ironwork. The masterclass guide walks you through the triple-distillation process that distinguishes Irish whiskey from Scotch, pausing at the heritage grain lofts and bonded warehouses. The tasting session opens with a comparative flight — Irish, Scotch and Bourbon — before moving to the premium Jameson Rarest Vintages range. In the blending workshop you compose your own small-batch expression, sealed and labelled to take home. The experience closes in the Bow St. bar with a perfectly mixed Jameson cocktail.
Good to know
Book the Whiskey Makers' Experience directly at jamesonwhiskey.com — availability is limited and it sells out quickly. Bow St. is a 25-minute walk or 10-minute taxi from the cruise terminal. Allow 2–2.5 hours. Smithfield Square has excellent restaurants for a post-tour lunch before returning to port.
