Deep in the Hoge Veluwe National Park, the Kröller-Müller holds the world's second-largest Van Gogh collection alongside a 25-hectare sculpture garden. A sublime, unhurried encounter with masterpiece art in a forest setting — utterly bucket-list.
What to expect
You cycle through Hoge Veluwe's heathered moorland to arrive at a low-slung modernist building housing nearly 90 Van Goghs. The sculpture garden beyond unfurls across woodland clearings, presenting Rodin, Bourgeois, and Serra under open sky. The park's free white bicycles — no locks, no fuss — make the journey as magical as the destination. Allow at least a half-day to absorb both the indoor galleries and the outdoor sculpture trail properly.
