Sail through 185 million years of Earth's history along UNESCO's Jurassic Coast, passing limestone stacks, fossil-laden cliffs and hidden coves. This is the only place on Earth where a near-complete sequence of Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous rock is exposed — and the sea is the finest vantage point.
What to expect
Board at Poole Quay and glide past the vast, sheltered harbour before rounding the Purbeck headland toward the dramatic chalk stacks at Old Harry Rocks. The boat threads close to the cliffs, revealing colours and layers invisible from the cliff path above. As you arc back via Swanage Bay, keep watch for bottlenose dolphins, cormorants and grey seals basking on the rocks.
Good to know
The cruise runs approximately 2 hours; check sailing times against your all-aboard and pre-book to secure preferred departure. Poole Quay is a short, walkable distance from the cruise terminal. Bring a light layer — even summer sea breezes can be brisk. Binoculars strongly recommended.
