The French Vexin Regional Natural Park spreads north of Mantes-la-Jolie in a patchwork of chalk plateaux, medieval villages, and Romanesque churches almost unknown to tourists. An expertly guided private e-bike day through this unspoiled landscape is pure bucolic luxury.
What to expect
Your guide collects you with quality e-bikes and leads you north into the park on quiet lanes between wheat fields and apple orchards. The first highlight is the Romanesque church at Vétheuil — itself painted by Monet — perched above the Seine. The route rolls on through Guiry-en-Vexin, a hamlet so perfectly preserved it barely acknowledges the 21st century. A picnic of local cheeses, pâté, and baguette is laid out at a scenic plateau viewpoint. The return loop passes the Château d'Ambleville's Italian-style gardens before the gentle e-bike roll back to port.
Good to know
The Maison du Parc at Théméricourt (about 20 km north of Mantes-la-Jolie) is the coordination point — arrange pickup directly with the park office. Best April–October. Suitable for all fitness levels thanks to e-bike assist; no cycling experience beyond basic confidence required.
