Quepos is one of the world's top three sport-fishing destinations, famed for its extraordinary sailfish concentrations. A private offshore charter puts you in the fighting chair for the Pacific's most spectacular billfish — release-only, sustainable, unforgettable.
What to expect
Your IGFA-certified captain and experienced mates have the 32–38 ft sportfisher rigged and ready at the Quepos Marina as you arrive. You head offshore into the warm, deep Pacific blue, trolling lures and live bait through current lines and birds working the surface. Sailfish here are caught at a rate that shocks even seasoned anglers — multiple hookups in a single morning are common between November and April. All fish are tagged and released, preserving this world-class fishery. Cold drinks and snacks are stocked; a light catch-and-cook lunch can be arranged.
Good to know
The marina is a 5-minute taxi from the cruise pier. Half-day charters (USD 900–1,100) work perfectly for cruise schedules — confirm all-aboard time with your captain. Book 4–6 weeks ahead for peak season (Dec–Apr). Captain will brief you on any seasickness precautions.
