Snorkelling the Juan Fernández Marine Park with a Naturalist

The Archipiélago Juan Fernández is a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and one of the most biodiverse marine environments in the southeast Pacific. Snorkel crystal-clear waters alongside playful Juan Fernández fur seals — a species brought back from the brink of extinction.

What to expect

A short panga ride from the San Juan Bautista jetty brings you to rocky coves where visibility routinely exceeds 20 metres. Playful fur seals spiral around snorkellers and yellowtail amberjack hang in shimmering schools. Your naturalist guide identifies the endemic marine life and explains the conservation story of the seal's remarkable recovery. Dry off on volcanic boulders watching blue-footed boobies dive overhead.
