Sail to the dramatic limestone monolith of Tavolara — one of the world's smallest kingdoms — aboard a private catamaran. Snorkel the crystalline marine protected waters, anchor in secret coves, and toast with Sardinian Vermentino as the island cliffs glow at sunset.
What to expect
Depart Olbia or Golfo Aranci marina and glide across the Gulf of Olbia to Tavolara's sheer 565 m limestone walls. Your skipper navigates to two or three snorkel spots inside the protected reserve, where posidonia meadows shelter octopus, sea bream, and moray eels in visibility that regularly exceeds 20 m. A cold aperitivo spread — local cheeses, cured meats, Cannonau wine — is served on deck as you drift in a turquoise cove. The return sail hugs the coastline past Punta Coda Cavallo's white-sand lagoons.
Good to know
Tours run approx. 4–6 hours; morning departures (9 am) are best for light and sea conditions. Pre-book at least 2 weeks ahead in peak season (June–September). All-aboard Olbia is typically 6–7 pm, giving ample buffer. Bring reef-safe sunscreen; snorkel gear provided.
