Skim the sea cliffs of Suðuroy at water level on a rigid inflatable, scanning for Atlantic puffins, razorbills, and white-tailed eagles. One of the most exhilarating wildlife encounters in the entire North Atlantic.
What to expect
Boarding in Vágur harbour, you head south along the coast aboard a powerful, wet-weather-suited RIB with experienced Faroese skippers who know every nesting ledge. The boat noses into sea caves and beneath overhanging basalt columns draped in puffin colonies. The skipper cuts the engine so you drift silently as birds land within metres. On the return leg, the bow lifts and you race back across open sea with the cliffs glowing behind you.
Good to know
Runs May–August for peak puffin season. Dry-suits or full-body flotation suits are provided. Not suitable for guests with serious mobility limitations. Book as soon as your cruise itinerary is confirmed — this is the first excursion to sell out from Vágur.
