Glacier Hike on the Greenland Ice Sheet Edge

Strap on crampons and walk across one of Earth's last great ice sheets, guided by a certified Arctic mountaineer. The scale and silence of the glacier is utterly otherworldly — a true once-in-a-lifetime encounter with the planet's frozen soul.

What to expect

After a short transfer from the landing point, your UIAGM/IFMGA-certified guide fits the group with crampons and harnesses and delivers a safety briefing at the ice edge. You then step onto the glacier itself, climbing through a surreal blue-and-white landscape of pressure ridges and meltwater channels. The guide narrates the science of ice-sheet formation and climate change while pointing out the jet-black cryoconite holes and crystalline formations unique to this latitude. The finale is a panoramic viewpoint above the bay that rewards every step of the approach.
