Drive the dramatic Tröllaskagi coastal road to Hofsós and plunge into the village's gravity-defying infinity pool, perched directly above Skagafjörður fjord. Swim at the edge of Iceland with mountain-and-fjord panoramas stretching to the horizon.
What to expect
The heated outdoor pool (28–30 °C) and hot pots (38–42 °C) sit on a raised platform at the edge of the fjord cliff, creating a seamless visual merge with the water and mountains beyond. On a clear Arctic summer day, the light is extraordinary. The village of Hofsós also houses the Icelandic Emigration Centre — worth 30 minutes of your time before or after the swim.
Good to know
Hofsós is ~47 km north of Sauðárkrókur (approx. 50 min via Route 76, a scenic coastal drive). Arrange a private car or join a shore-excursion transfer via Saga Travel (sagatravel.is).
