The same couple buying comparable ship tours would pay a clear premium. The ship’s version of a half-day Kleftiko or winery tour is almost always more expensive and often includes a guaranteed return tender. That guarantee matters when sea conditions are marginal or when your chosen operator runs on a tight schedule. For everything else on the list the direct route wins on price. The ship’s excursion is the better buy only when you value the safety net of a guaranteed return more than the markup. Grab a quick lunch in Adamas before or after the cruise and you will still have time to wander the harbour before the last tender.
Assume gangway around 08:00 and all-aboard 17:00–18:00. Start with the Kayaking Tour to the secrets of Milos at 09:00 (EUR 60 pp). You are back in Adamas by early afternoon. Have lunch, then join the Kostantakis Winery - Milos Island Tour & Wine Tasting Experience in the mid-afternoon slot. The combination gives you water, light adventure and a relaxed close with local wine and food. Skip the expensive private cruise and the long land excursion; they duplicate ground and add cost without adding variety.
If I could pick only one excursion in Milos it would be the Milos caves snorkelling Catamaran Cruise in a small group. At USD 234 per person it is not the cheapest, but it delivers the island’s signature scenery, swimming and caves in one relaxed package with a strong operator (5.00 from 347 reviews). The half-day speedboat is a close second when time is tight, but the catamaran gives you more water time and fewer regrets at the end of the day. The ship’s version is legitimate if you want zero planning; otherwise book direct, leave the buffer you actually need, and enjoy the fact that Milos rewards the independent traveller more than most Greek islands.
