Ain Diab Beach Excursion in Casablanca: Worth It?

Ain Diab is Casablanca’s main seaside strip — a long corniche with a mix of rocky shoreline, small sandy beaches, cafés, and a decent promenade for walking. Expect a relaxed but very local vibe rather than a pristine tropical beach. The water is usually clean enough for a quick swim in summer, though it can be choppy. Most excursions combine it with a city tour (Hassan II Mosque, central market, etc.) and drop you here for 45–90 minutes at the end. It’s not a destination on its own, but it makes a pleasant wind-down after a full day of sightseeing in the city.

Best time is late spring through early autumn (May–October). Summer (June–August) is hot and crowded with locals on weekends; weekdays are calmer. Winter is often too windy and cool for beach time. Expect to pay around 350–650 MAD per person for a half-day guided tour including transport and mosque visit, or 150–250 MAD if you just want a simple taxi round-trip from central Casablanca and handle it yourself.

Tip: Skip the overpriced tourist cafés right on the corniche and walk 5–10 minutes to the smaller places used by locals for better mint tea and snacks.
