Arts District Walking Tour in Los Cabos

The Thursday night Art Walk in San José del Cabo’s small gallery district is a low-key, self-paced evening stroll through about four blocks of galleries on Obregón, Morelos, Guerrero, and Comonfort streets. Expect 10–12 open studios and galleries showing a mix of paintings, sculpture, photography, and handicrafts. Most places serve cheap wine or beer and have the artist or a rep on hand to chat. It runs roughly 5–10 pm; the whole thing takes 60–90 minutes if you stop in everywhere. It’s casual, safe, and feels more like visiting friends’ studios than a formal tour. You’ll see a decent range of quality—some pieces are genuinely impressive, others are pure tourist art.

Best time is November through April when the weather is pleasant for walking at night. Summers are hot and sticky, and many galleries close earlier. Expect to pay around $0–25 total: the walk itself is free, but plan on a few small purchases or tips if you take a guided option. A light dinner and drinks afterward usually adds another $30–50 per person.

Tip: Start at the southern end near the main plaza and walk north so you finish closer to good restaurants. Skip any gallery that feels like a hard-sell souvenir shop; the smaller, quieter ones on the side streets usually have the better work and friendlier conversations. Wear comfortable shoes and bring a small bag for any purchases.
