Dune bashing is a wild, bumpy roller-coaster ride in a 4x4 across the red sand dunes outside Abu Dhabi. Expect 30-45 minutes of aggressive driving with sudden drops, climbs, and slides that will have you laughing, screaming, and gripping the handles. It’s the adrenaline part of a typical desert safari that usually continues with a sunset stop at a Bedouin-style camp for BBQ dinner, camel rides, henna, and belly dancing. The whole experience lasts 5-7 hours. It’s fun if you like thrill rides, but it can feel repetitive after 20 minutes and leaves some people feeling motion-sick.

Best time is November to March when it’s cooler (evenings around 20-25°C). Skip summer – the heat is brutal even after sunset.
