Dunn's River Falls is a hands-on climb up a series of limestone cascades that empty straight into the sea. From Montego Bay you'll spend roughly 90 minutes each way on a coach or van. The actual climb takes about an hour and a half if you go at a normal pace; guides help you up the slippery sections while you hold hands in a human chain. The water is refreshingly cool, the rocks are uneven, and everyone gets soaked. At the top there's a small park where you can change, grab a drink, or just sit. The whole trip usually runs 5–7 hours door-to-door. It's touristy, busy, and the climb is more fun than it sounds in photos—think natural waterslide mixed with mild rock scrambling.
Best time is December through mid-April when crowds are manageable and rain is less likely to make the rocks dangerously slick. Expect to pay around $110–$180 per person from Montego Bay, depending on whether you go in a big group tour with lunch or book a smaller private trip. Hotel pickup is standard. Skip the overpriced on-site souvenirs and the “VIP” photo packages. Do wear water shoes with good grip (they rent them cheaply at the entrance if you forget) and bring a dry bag or at least a plastic bag for your phone and wallet.
