Electric Fiat Tour in Nice: Worth It?

These small open-top electric Fiat 500 tours are essentially a guided drive with a live guide who leads a convoy of 4-6 cars along the coast. You follow in your own vehicle while the guide points out sights through a microphone and stops at viewpoints. Expect a mix of Nice's Promenade des Anglais, cliff roads toward Èze, and coastal views toward Monaco. The cars are cute, quiet, and easy to drive, but you spend most of the time focused on the road rather than soaking in the scenery. The 2.5–3 hour versions feel about right; longer ones can get tiring in traffic.

Best time is April–June or September–early October. Summer is hot, crowded, and the guides often get stuck in traffic. Winter can be chilly in an open car. Expect to pay around $55–$90 per person for a standard group tour. Private tours run $180–$280 for the car. Add a few euros for parking if your pickup point requires it.

Pick the shorter morning tour if you want energy and good light. Skip the full-day versions unless you really love driving in convoys; they get repetitive. Bring sunglasses, a light jacket, and a phone holder if you want decent photos—your hands will be on the wheel most of the time.
