Jardin Majorelle: Worth Visiting in Marrakech?

Expect a compact but striking garden filled with vibrant blue buildings, cactus collections, bamboo groves, and lily ponds. It's calm and photogenic, though it gets crowded quickly with tour groups. The on-site Berber Museum is genuinely interesting if you like textiles and jewelry; the Yves Saint Laurent Museum next door is modern and well-curated but feels separate from the garden itself. Most people spend 45-90 minutes here unless you're a serious plant nerd.

Best time is spring or autumn when it's cooler and the light is good. Go early morning (opens around 8-9am) to beat the heat and the crowds that arrive by 10:30. In summer it can be uncomfortably hot by midday. Expect to pay around $15-30 total per person depending on whether you do just the garden, add the Berber Museum, or get a combo ticket with the YSL Museum. Guided tours push the price higher.

Smart move: buy skip-the-line tickets online in advance. Skip the official guided tour if you're short on time; the garden is small and easy to explore on your own with an audio guide or just wandering. Don't bother with a combo that includes hotel transfers unless your hotel is far from the medina - taxis are easy.
