The Palmeraie routes are flatter and easier but can feel repetitive after an hour; the mountain options give better scenery and a more authentic ride. It gets hot and dusty fast — you'll come back covered in red dust and sweat. The horses are generally well cared for by the better operators, but standards vary widely. A typical ride lasts 1–3 hours including transfer time from the medina.

Best time is November to April when temperatures are comfortable. Skip summer entirely unless you enjoy riding at 40°C.
