Jeep Tours in Aruba: Worth It?

A jeep tour is the easiest way to reach Aruba’s rugged north and east coasts that rental cars can’t handle. Expect a bouncy ride in an open-sided vehicle, stops at the Natural Pool (a small rocky swim spot), Baby Beach or similar calm bays, and a few viewpoints or caves. Tours usually last 4–6 hours, include some basic snacks or lunch, and mix driving with short walks. It’s fun if you like being outside and don’t mind dust, wind, and occasional crowds at the popular spots. The terrain is rough but the drivers know what they’re doing.

Best time is January through April when it’s dry and slightly cooler. July–November is hotter, rainier, and the dirt roads get muddy. Expect to pay around $90–$160 per person depending on group size, whether it’s shared or private, and if lunch is included. Private tours cost more but give you flexibility on timing and stops.

Tip: Choose the morning departure so you’re not baking in the afternoon sun and the light is better for photos. Skip the full-day versions that add a lot of driving just to hit an extra beach—you’ll be tired and it rarely feels worth the extra hours and money. Bring a hat, reef-safe sunscreen, and a waterproof bag for your phone.
