Jet Ski Tours in Los Cabos: Worth It?

A jet ski tour in Los Cabos typically means riding a guided group of 4–8 machines along the coast for 45–90 minutes. You’ll cruise past rocky cliffs, sea caves, and the famous arch where the Pacific meets the Sea of Cortez. Expect some instruction on throttle control and hand signals, then a mix of sightseeing and faster open-water sections. It’s fun if you like being on the water and don’t mind the noise and occasional splash. The ride can feel bumpy when the wind picks up; mornings are usually calmer. Marine life sightings (sea lions, dolphins, occasional whales) are possible but never guaranteed.

Best time is December through May when seas are calmer and visibility is better. June–November brings hotter weather, possible afternoon winds, and higher chance of rougher water or tour cancellations. Expect to pay around $90–$160 per person depending on tour length, group size, and whether gear and photos are included. Single riders usually pay more than doubles.

Tip: choose a smaller group tour if you want more freedom to throttle up; the big “parade” tours move at the speed of the slowest rider and can feel like a floating traffic jam. Skip any add-on that pushes you straight into a timeshare sales pitch at the end—plenty of operators don’t do that. Wear reef-safe sunscreen, bring a waterproof phone case or dry bag, and go early to avoid the worst heat and crowds.
