Monaco, Monte Carlo & Eze Day Trip from Nice

A half-day tour from Nice usually runs about 5 hours and hits the three main spots: the hilltop village of Eze with its medieval streets and cactus garden, Monte Carlo with its casino square and harbor full of superyachts, and a quick spin through Monaco’s old town and palace area. Expect comfortable but not luxurious transport, a guide who’ll give the standard history and celebrity stories, and a fair bit of walking on uneven cobblestones. The full-day version adds free time for shopping or lunch but can feel long if you’re not into wandering luxury boutiques. Crowds are noticeable in both options; you won’t have the places to yourself.

Best time is April–June or September–October when the weather is pleasant and the Côte d’Azur isn’t at peak summer capacity. Expect to pay around $60–110 per person for a small-group half-day tour; full-day versions sit closer to $90–150. Private tours jump considerably higher.

Pick the half-day small-group tour if you just want the highlights without wasting a whole day. Skip the big-coach full-day version in July and August unless you enjoy crowds and traffic. Bring comfortable shoes and a few euros for drinks or the Eze garden entry; everything else is pretty much included.
