It gets busy on weekends and in summer; lines can easily hit 30-45 minutes without a skip-the-line option.

Best time to go is spring or fall when temperatures are comfortable and visibility is usually good. Early morning on a weekday avoids the worst crowds. Expect to pay around €15-€25 per person for a return ticket depending on whether you buy online in advance or add a castle entry or audio guide. Guided tours that bundle transport, cable car, and castle access push the total closer to €50-70.

Honest tip: just buy the basic return cable car ticket and walk around the castle grounds on your own – the views are the real reason to go up.
