Casa Milà (La Pedrera) Tour: Worth It?

Casa Milà is a big, strange, curvy apartment block that feels like a living sculpture. On a tour you’ll walk the famous undulating rooftop (the best part), see the dramatic courtyard, and visit one restored apartment. Expect 45–90 minutes depending on whether you do the basic self-guided audio tour or a longer guided experience. The rooftop is the star: chimneys shaped like warriors, great city views, and that unmistakable organic Gaudí style. Inside it’s interesting but not jaw-dropping compared with some of his other buildings. It gets crowded and can feel like a conveyor belt at peak times.

Best time to visit is spring (April–June) or fall (September–October). Go early morning or late afternoon to avoid the worst crowds and harsh midday light on the roof. Expect to pay around €25–€45 per person; longer guided tours or combo tickets push toward the higher end. Honest tip: if you only have time for one Gaudí house, choose Casa Batlló instead – it’s more theatrical inside. But if you’re already doing multiple Gaudí sites or just love rooftops, do the standard La Pedrera self-guided visit and skip any add-on “night experience” unless you specifically want evening photos.
