Expect a half-day trip that mixes a scenic drive with about 90 minutes at the falls. The Blue Hole section features limestone pools where you can swim and jump from rocks (guides will show you safe spots). Then you follow a short river trail to Secret Falls, which is more about wading through cool water, climbing a few small cascades, and enjoying the jungle-like setting. It's active but not extreme — you'll get wet, slip on rocks, and probably laugh a lot. The water is clear and refreshing, though it can feel crowded when multiple groups overlap.
Best time is December to April when it's drier and the water level is lower, making the jumps and climbs easier. Avoid peak hurricane season (September–October) if possible. Expect to pay around $80–$130 per person including transport from Montego Bay hotels, guide, and usually lunch or snacks. Independent taxis will cost less but you'll still pay entry and guide fees on site.
Pick the version that combines Blue Hole with Secret Falls only — skip the long all-day tours that also drag you to Dunn's River Falls unless you really want the crowds and extra driving. Wear water shoes with good grip; the cheap ones sold there fall apart quickly. Bring a dry bag for your phone and a quick-dry towel.
