Aruba’s snorkeling tours typically last 2.5 to 4 hours and take you to two or three sites by catamaran or smaller boat. You’ll spend most of the time in the water at shallow reefs or the famous Antilla shipwreck, where visibility is usually excellent and fish are plentiful. Expect 45–90 minutes total in the water, plus time sailing, drinking, and eating snacks. The water is warm year-round, but the experience is calmer on the protected leeward side. It’s a solid half-day activity if you want to see marine life without committing to scuba.
Best time is April through October when the seas are flattest and visibility often exceeds 80 feet. December to March can be windier, making the ride bumpier and the water cloudier after storms. Expect to pay around $55–$85 per person for a standard half-day tour that includes gear, guide, drinks, and fruit. Private or small-group options run $120–$200.
Pick a smaller boat (under 20 people) if you want more time in the water and less party atmosphere; larger catamarans are fine but feel more like floating bars. Skip the tours that advertise “swim with turtles” as a guarantee—turtles are wild and not always there. Bring your own snorkel mask if you have a favorite; rental gear is usually okay but sometimes worn.
