Is the Brussels Tram Tour Worth It?

The Brussels tram tour is a relaxed way to see the city without walking or fighting traffic. You ride a historic tram through the center and out to greener suburbs while a guide gives commentary. Expect a 2–2.5 hour trip with a few photo stops. It’s not a hop-on hop-off service; once you board, you stay on for the full loop. The ride is smooth and the old tram itself is part of the charm, but the narration can feel a bit dry after the first 45 minutes. It’s a decent overview if your legs are tired or the weather is iffy.

Best time is spring or early autumn on a weekday afternoon. Summer evenings are pleasant but book up fast and can get warm inside the tram. Expect to pay around €25–€40 per adult depending on whether you choose a basic tour or one with a drink and snack. Kids usually get a decent discount.

Tip: pick the afternoon departure that includes the short walk through the European district; it breaks up the sitting and gives better photo light. Skip the evening “mystery tour” version unless you really love surprise quizzes and limited scenery after dark. Overall it’s a solid low-effort option, but don’t expect it to replace actually exploring neighborhoods on foot.
