Built in 1738 by Fujian settlers, Longshan Temple is a historic Taiwanese folk temple honoring Guanyin and other Chinese Buddhist, Taoist, and Confucian deities including Mazu and Guan Yu. Visitors follow a prescribed prayer ritual through multiple halls, with particular popularity around the altar to Yue Lao, believed to grant wishes related to love and matchmaking, where devotees throw divination blocks and receive red threads as blessings.
