Istanbul Archaeological Museums is a compound of three separate institutions—the Archaeology Museum, the Museum of Ancient Orient, and the Tiled Kiosk Museum—housing roughly a million artifacts from various cultures collected from Ottoman imperial lands. Visitors can view sarcophagi from royal necropolises (including the Alexander Sarcophagus), ancient Greek and Roman sculptures, and Turkish tiles and ceramics spanning from Seljuk to Ottoman periods, displayed across neo-classical buildings constructed in the late 19th century.
