Liliesleaf is a South African national heritage site that served as the secret headquarters of the ANC, SACP, and Umkhonto we Sizwe between 1961 and 1963 until a police raid on July 11, 1963 arrested the core leadership of the liberation movement. The museum features exhibitions documenting the journey to democracy in South Africa, including the story of the Rivonia Trial where Nelson Mandela and nine other anti-apartheid leaders were tried for sabotage. Visitors can tour the historic buildings and sites, view archives, and learn about the resistance to apartheid through interactive exhibitions and galleries.
