Molokini Crater is a partially submerged volcanic crater formed 230,000 years ago that serves as a marine life sanctuary with crystal clear water and excellent visibility. Visitors snorkel in the crater to observe a large and varied fish population, and may also see eels and octopuses, with tours departing from Kihei, Wailea, or Ma'alaea Harbor on Maui.
