The Sneffels Traverse is a 34-mile, five-day backcountry hiking trek across the San Juan Mountains, starting at Last Dollar Pass near Telluride and ending in Ouray, Colorado. Hikers stay in four mountain huts while traversing remote wilderness through alpine meadows, aspen groves, and evergreen forests at elevations between 7,800 and 10,800 feet, with opportunities to summit peaks like Mount Sneffels or visit alpine lakes. The fully-supported hut-to-hut system provides shelter, sleeping bags, cook stoves, and composting toilets while hikers experience some of the region's most scenic mountain terrain.
