Camber Castle is a historic artillery fort built by Henry VIII in the 16th century, designed to guard the port of Rye and featuring an unusually unaltered design. Visitors can view the castle's exterior via a one-mile walk across public footpaths from Rye, and explore the surrounding Rye Harbour Nature Reserve which contains other military structures including a martello tower and WWII pillboxes.
